Children’s Literature Festival- SNSS - 2014

January 31st, 2014: CLF 2014 held at the Sanjan Nagar Hima cammpus, presenting celebrities, authors, publishers and well-known personalities. The event featured interactive readings, discussions, workshops and art experiences by famous children’s writers, poets, artists and resource persons.   • Creative writing, illustrations and book making, writing book reviews. 
  • Poetry reading and ‘Writing Poems’ with renowned poets/academics
  • Reading with fun activities by Alif Laila
  • Debating, Poetry and Prose expressions by children - bol ke lub azad hain teray.
  •  Interactive pottery, arts and crafts; puppets, theatre and music.
  • Workshops on writing blogs, Use and power of new media
  • Digital Stories by Little Art

It was an honor for all that Mr.Raza Kazim, famous Lawyer and Patron Sanjan Nagar was there as the Chief Guest of the Program. Children’s Literature Festival was initiated by Idara-e-Taleem-O-Aagahi (ITA), Oxford University Press (OUP) in collaboration with Open Society Foundations (OSF) in 2011. Till date eight CLF’s have been held all across the country with an attendance of over 130,000 children/teachers/parents. CLF is a free public event attended by thousands of children and teachers from all over Pakistan. This is in itself a social movement. An equalizer for all school systems - government and private sector, non-formal and special needs schools. CLF addresses the challenges of learning, reviving a culture of reading and generating innovative content for textbooks and supplementary materials in classrooms. CLF is a campaign for promoting reading habits through multi-sensory experiences beyond textbooks and tests. CLF promotes creativity, critical thinking and imagination. Read whole CLF-2014 Program.
