The much awaited SNPETHSS - Annual Sports Day 2018-19 was held on Friday 29th March 2019, with Great Spirit and joyous atmosphere as a true school-community event. The programme began with the recitation from the Holy Quran and the Bible, followed by the Principal’s speech. She welcomed the esteemed gathering, the Chief Guest Mr. Jawad Ahmad a famous celebrated pop-star and social activist; Ms. Farzana Kausar emphasized the importance of sports in a student's life.
The programme commenced at 10:15 a.m. with an impressive march past by grades 6 to 9 students. The Chief Guest Mr. Jawad Ahmad an icon of the Pakistan’s music industry took the salute of the March Past to the stirring rhythms of the drums.
Students from playgroup to grade 12 competed in events; these included the: Frog race, Tricycle race, Tunnel race, Relays, Sack race, Obstacle race, Skipping race and various other events; the Karate display completely mesmerized the audience. Other colorful and lively events included Cultural dance by grades 4 and 5, Aerobics grades 6 and 7 and a tug- of- war between grades 11 and 12 added to the spirited enjoyment.
At the end, the Chief Guest expressed his positive remarks about the students' performance; he felt very delighted when he heard the performance of grade 10 students on one of his songs “Oh kehndi ey siyan mey teri aan” and asked to provide a video to him for his own studio records. He also sang a song for the audience “Too mera yaar too mera piyar “ Sadaf Yousas SNPET-HSS alumni also accompanied him while singing. Later Mr. Jawad Ahmad had long discussion with Ms. Noor Zahra Kazim Ms. Tasneem Maqbool and Ms.Aliya Rasheed along with other faculty members, the Principal and Section Heads.
Ms.Tasneem Maqbool shared Sanjan Nagar Trust’s philosophy and history with him and he was very inspired by Sanjan Nagar’s approach towards holistic education.
Ms. Beena Raza (Trustee SNPET) has expressed her interest to work in collaboration with Mr. Jawad Ahmad as both Sanjan Nagar and Jawad Ahmad are working for education and basic rights of the underprivileged community
Ms.Noor Zahra Kazim shared Ms. Aliya’s Journey at Sanjan Nagar and he was very inspired to hear Ms.Aliya's story and is looking forward to singing a song with Ms.Aliya (SNPET-Music teacher).
The students, teachers, parents/families and all members of the audience were very excited to have Mr. Jawad Ahmad, the famous pop star as the Sports Day Chief Guest and he generously allowed photo shoots with parents, students, and faculty.
