Guest speaker sessions with Absar Ahmed On 25th Oct 2022 at SNPET

Guest speaker sessions are an integral part of the learning process at SNPET-HSS. Such sessions inspire young people about possible futures and what it might take to reach them, as well as to see the world outside their classroom and the local community.

 

On 25th Oct ‘2022, SNPET-HSS organized a guest speaker session where Absar Ahmed, a Pakistani researcher and archivist of national songs and a journalist, broadcaster, and songwriter, was invited as a guest speaker to broaden its student's horizons.
 
About the Speaker
 
Absar Ahmad started his career in 2005 as an intern with Geo TV. Later, he has also been working at ARY News, Express TV, and PTV as a host, researcher, and scriptwriter. He has broadcast some shows and scripted documentaries on Radio Pakistan.
Reportedly, Absar is the first archivist of Pakistan who has preserved more than four and a half thousand rare or almost lost national and patriotic songs. Along with this collection, he has also written several research articles on national songs adapted to music, published in Pakistan's reliable newspapers and magazines, including the Pakistan Army's journal Hilaal.
 
About the session
 
Absar Ahmad shared that his hobby of archiving Pakistani National songs started at the very young age of o4 years; He shared the efforts, hurdles, and achievements on his way to this journey. During the sessions, he also expressed his love for the motherland. He shared about the efforts and sacrifices made by great heroes, Including Noel Dias, also known as Saleem Raza, a Pakistani (playback singer) who sang beautiful National Songs. He reemphasized the meaning of leader among the students. In the end, he played the audio of various national songs sung at different times in Pakistan's history. The session concluded that nothing is impossible; if someone wants to do something, they will find a way to do it, even if things make it hard to do.
