On February 1st, 2025 a significant Breast Cancer Awareness session was held at Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust Higher Secondary School. The campaign was initiated by Former First Lady Mrs. Samina Arif Alvi.
The session was facilitated by Mrs. Tasneem Maqbool and led by Dr. Samia Tauqeer, covered crucial topics including:
• Who is at risk of breast cancer
• Ways to reduce the risk
• How to detect breast cancer early (emphasizing the importance of early detection)
• Early detection saves lives
• The “Take the Pledge” initiative
• A hands-on demonstration of self-examination at home
The event was graced by the presence of Chairperson SNPET HSS, Mrs. Tasneem Maqbool, along with Dr. Nadra Umer, and esteemed guests; Professor Fareeda Majid and Professor Rehana Ayub.
Girls from grades 5 to 10, grade 10 boys, faculty members from both primary and secondary schools, and mothers of the aforementioned grades actively participated in the session.
A recorded message from Mrs. Samina Arif Alvi about the disease was also conveyed to the audience.
The audience demonstrated keen interest, actively engaging in discussions and posing insightful questions. This interactive session ensured that attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of breast cancer and its prevention.
