97th Pakistan Learning Festival: A Legacy of Peace in Lahore

The 97th Pakistan Learning Festival (PLF) took place on April 16, 2026, at Sanjan-Nagar School, Lahore. Guided by the theme “Learning for Peace and Sustainability,” the festival brought together students and the community for a day of innovation and heritage.

Event Highlights:

Global Peace & Heritage: Students made origami cranes to continue the legacy of Sadako Sasaki, spreading the message of peace from Hiroshima to the world.

Cultural Wisdom: Abuzar Madhu led a session on Punjabi Theater and the wisdom of Sufi literature.

Letters to Leaders on Peace by high school teachers.

The Power of Storytelling: Waqas Manzoor engaged younger students in a session titled “Khel, Khidona, Kahani”.

Digital Future: Expert-led sessions focused on AI, Digital, and Machine Learning, as well as Digital Safety.

Literacy & Engagement: The Kitab Gari and ITA storybook stalls sparked a love for reading among the attendees.

Community Voices: Students from Saint Paul School (Grades 1–8) participated and shared their remarks on the value of hosting the PLF at the school.

Fun and Fundraising:

The campus was alive with vibrant stalls organized for both enjoyment and school support:

Parental Contribution: Creative doll-making stalls were hosted by parents.

Festive Stalls: Attendees enjoyed mehndi, face painting, and various food stalls.

Creative Expression: The program included a Pakistan Sign Language session by Daniel Marc (Deaf Reach), a tribute to Faiz, and climate justice discussions supervised by high school teachers.

A Heartfelt Conclusion:

The festival concluded with a powerful performance of a Faiz song by alumnus Hassin. This was followed by moving remarks from students, parents, and teachers, who shared their reflections on the day’s impact.

At the close of the event, the school community learned of the passing of its founder, Sir Raza Kazim. A special prayer was held to honor his memory, with both the community and the school committing to continuing his legacy of excellence and social impact.
