Students Educational Visits:

 

Enriching students as multipliers for families and society

Since 2006 students from Sanjan Nagar are selected to visit USA annually for a one year program through the (International Education and Resource Network) iEARN. YES or Youth Exchange and Study is a program for secondary school students to spend one Academic year in the USA. Students live with host families and attend high school, engaging in community life. lEARN is currently responsible for the recruitment of students from Pakistan. iEARN is partnering with a number of other organizations, including AYUSA, AMIDEAST, Close Up Foundation, and Sister Cities International to enhance the program through ongoing online project partnerships among participating schools. As part of the program, participating so."' students exchange experiences via earn cyber-diaries YES alumni students stay connected and share the ongoing impact of their year in the YES Consortium Alumni Database. Several students have been the recipient of this amazing encounter in USA; in homes, schools and society; some of them are:

Student Visit in 2013-2014:

Grade 8 student Fazeela Arshad has been selected for iEARN-YES one year scholarship program for 2013-2014 session. She got her US visa and will get one year free education in a US school including traveling and full accommodation. 

 April 26th, 2013:

Anum Ashraf selected and got five year multiple visa through Seeds of Peace Pakistan for International Summer Camp 2013 in Maine USA.  A Seed of Peace is a peace building, youth NGO based in New York City.

Student Visit in 2011-2012:

Grade 8 Students Aqsa Munir has been selected for iEARN-YES one year scholarship program for 2012-2013 session. She got her US visa and will get one year free education in a US school including traveling and full accommodation.  Read her whole year report.

Student Visit in 2010-2011: 

June 1st, 2011: Grade ten  students Arooj and Amina Shahzadi have  been selected for iEARN-YES one year scholarship program for 2011-2012 session. They got their US visas stamped on 31st May. They will get one year free education in a US school including traveling and full accommodation. Arooj is going to deploy to Washington state whereas Amina is heading to Ohio, USA.

Last year two of our school students Ayesha Zaib and Kainat Nadeem went to USA on the same program. 

Student Visit in 2009-2010: 

August 5th, 2009: Grade ten students Kainat and Ayesha has safely reached USA to start their one year free education in one of the US School under iEARN-YES Program for 2009. They were among the group of 26 students selected from Punjab province. Kainat got her host family in Florida whereas Ayesha will live in Mississippi state. 

Student Visit in 2008-2009: 

7-Apr-2008: The student of class nine, Sidra Shoaib has been nominated to visit USA under the iEARN-YES program for the year 2008-2009. Every year the school participates in the iEARN YES Program through which one or two school students go to USA to complete one year free education there. All expenses including education, boarding and travelling is funded by iEARN-YES and US department of education. Last year, Warda Shakoor of class nine went to USA under the same program.  

 

Student Visit in 2007-2008: 

Warda Shakoor was selected for 2007-2008 iEARN YES student. She went to USA and started her regular schooling at Menomonie, Wisconsin. She was hosted by a Lutheran family. She joined Menomonie High School on 4 of September as a 12 grade student. She was involved in all school activities. She said "It is different from my Sanjan Nagar School." She opted for Algebra 1, English 3D Art and Environmental Conservation (Agri science) as she finds them interesting. During her studies in USA, she won many positions in different curricular and co-curricular activities.

Student Visit in 2006-2007:

Saba Ali student of class eight went on scholarship to America through the iEARN-YES Program. She completed her one year education in a US school for 2006-2007. She is still in touch with the school and informs that she enjoyed the experience of being in America. Click here to see more pictures.

Student Visit in 2004-5005:

Through iEARN YES program Sadia Sarwar and Kalsoom Fatima of class eight-visited USA for three weeks in June 2004. Click here to see more pictures.

Student Visit in 2002-2003:

On May 31, 2002, Saadia Sarvar student of class six went to Korea to attend the World Festival for Children 2002. She was in a group of two children to represent Pakistan. Click here to see more pictures of this event.

 


Teachers Visits to USA:

2011:  HSSC Teacher Ms. Farzana Kausar  joined the school after a month long Professional Development visit to PlymothState University USA under the Pakistani Educational Leadership Project (PELI). Click here to read more detail.

2010:  HSSC Teacher Ms. Raheela joined the school after a month long Professional Development visit to PlymothState University USA under the Pakistani Educational Leadership Project (PELI). She was a part of a group of forty participants from allover Pakistan. They attended numbers of seminars on educational leadership, science pedagogy and conflict resolution. 2008:  Mr. Saimon Robin selected and paid  visit to Plymouth State University, USA being the part of PELI  2008. This year the course was about the "ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES" focusing preservation of Culture & Heritage, Stewardship and Conservation and proper utilization of resources in hand. 2007:  Ms. Faiza Shahrukh went to Plymouth State University New Hampshire on a three weeks of training.

2006:  Ms. Misbah Rani, incharge of Montessori Section, went to visit Ply Mouth University, USA on a training program. She visited America for one month. She participated in many workshops.

 

2004:  Mrs. Neelum Earnest and Miss Afifa Ahmer went to visit Ply Mouth University, USA on a training program. They visited America for one month.
